Recircs or BOVs are designed to open when the throttle plates are closed to allow forward moving air from the turbos to escape .This keeps the turbos moving freely and prevents a serge of back pressure which will slow the turbos and also create lag , plus wear the turbos out faster . Recircs are fine for lower HP cars with smaller turbos , but with cars running big turbos that push alot more air and tend to be more laggy , the small stock recircs are just not big enough to expell enough air to keep up with the turbos. Most smaller BOVs are no better , but Tial BOVs are a full 50mm , the biggest on the market that I am aware of and by releasing such a large volume of air keep the turbos spinning in the right direction .
